Pilgrimage to Mount Adams

A report from pilgrimage leader, Rev. Dave Capraro, Organizer of the Michigan Branch

Mt Adams July 2014 base

Pilgrims gathered at the Mount Adams trailhead.

On July 24th and 25th, 12 Members of The Aetherius Society from the USA, the UK, Canada and New Zealand ascended to the peak of Mount Adams where a total of 15 Twelve Blessings Services were performed for world peace, healing and upliftment.
The ascents were made from our base at Madison Hut, a cabin run by the Appalachian Mountain Club where we stayed for three nights.  The climb from the trailhead to Madison Hut takes from three to six hours depending on one’s condition. The peak of Mount Adams is 1,000 feet in elevation above Madison Hut equating to approximately a one hour and 15 minute climb.
The whole Mount Adams experience requires long distance travel, usually between five and seven days of time and considerable expense in lodging, as well as the correct gear to minimize the risks of this dangerous mountain.  Though only 5,800 feet in elevation, Mount Adams is known for some of the world’s fiercest weather! During the two days at the peak winds were a steady 15 to 30 mph the first day and 30 to 45 mph the second day, but we were fortunate there was no rain.  As usual, our scouts were able to find a spot on one face or another that provided very good shelter from the wind and appropriate ground for assembly amongst the boulders. Many veterans commented that this was one of the most powerful pilgrimages to Mount Adams. The spiritual focus, excellent cooperation and camaraderie all contributed to making this an unforgettable, inspiring and in at least one case, life-changing experience. All of us felt incredibly blessed and humbled to be standing on a Holy Mountain of incredible Light where we could radiate great healing energies to the world.  This was made possible, of course, by our Master who endured terrible suffering during his climb of Mount Adams in extreme winter conditions in order to see it charged in the magnificent Operation Starlight.
